Happy Halloween!

Joel has been anticipating this day for some time now! Seeing how he has been wearing his turtle costume nearly every day for the past six weeks, today is a thrill! Nonie & Pop-Pop came to Kalamazoo for a visit this past week. Joel had fun showing them around town and taking them to the pumpkin farm.

On Halloween morning, we took a visit to Rambling Road Pediatrics (where Amy used to work) to visit all of our friends. It took Joel a couple seconds to realize that saying "treat treat" meant that he got some type of candy or sticker! I've been hearing "treat treat" all day long! Then we headed over to our friends' (Todd, Lisa & Brady) home. We were trying to get a picture of all our kids together...all TEN of them (and there will be 3 more coming in 2008!)! It was quite an adventure! All the kids were dressed as animals this year which made it lots of fun. Joel is the cute turtle in the middle!!

We headed over to Grandpa & Grandma DeBoer's house for some Halloween treats then went back home to make the rounds in our neighborhood. Joel had fun passing candy out to the trick or treaters as they came to the house. However, once we took him out...it took a couple houses for him to realize that he could now GET candy. When people would open their doors and hold out their bowl of treats, Joel would take a piece of candy out of his bag and GIVE it to them! Once we got that straightened out...it was a ton of fun!
