Places to Go...Things to See...

Grace is officially on the move. The scoots and wiggles have turned into full-fledged creeping. She is sick and tired of watching big brother run all over the house without her. She likes to chase him wherever he goes and grab at his toys. Joel likes to tempt her with his toys and when she gets all the way across the room to get them...he steals them away! Little stinker! Check out my Gracie Girl doing her army crawl across the floor (and brother Joel snatching away her prize!).

It is so much fun to have a girl. She is seven months old now and I still can't believe I have a girl. The kids and I were shopping with Niki & Layla yesterday and I bought Grace her first Cabbage Patch Kid baby doll. I get to buy baby dolls! It's crazy and I love it. I also love that Grace is constantly "chatting" with me. She loves to shriek and coo and babble. If ever there was a doubt, I am now a firm believer that girls talk much more than boys! (P.S. Thanks to the Brodie family for Gracie's cute outfit in this video...and ALL the great clothes you have passed on to us!!)

And my Joel Man...what would life be like without him??
He now knows how to open the gate that keeps him in his room at night. He still stays in his room and waits for us to get him in the morning...but HE opens the gate to let himself out. Go figure! I guess we'll just keep going with that until he decides to make a break for it in the middle of the night.
As of yet...there is no really potty routine. He absolutely understands when he has to go, but he does NOT want to give up his diapers yet. I'm trying to be patient. It is just frustrating when he will come up to me to tell me he is going pee in his diaper but will refuse to sit on the potty. When I ask him to try to sit on the potty he says, "but I went potty YESTERDAY!" Unfortunately for Joel, he is going to have to come to the realization that going potty isn't a once-a-week experience. He will have to go every day. I'm not losing hope, though. I haven't met any kindergarteners who need to wear diapers to school, so I know it will happen sooner or later!
Also...Curt & I celebrated our seven year anniversary this weekend. I can't believe how fast time has flown by. We had a really great weekend together, and we are so thankful to be blessed with a happy marriage and two beautiful kids. We are excited to see what the Lord has in store for our family in the next seven years!
