We love Fall!

The DeBoer Family hit the pumpkin farm today. It was a great day to be outside and we had a blast! Joel loved it. He got to ride a pony, go on a hayride, get his face painted, eat a donut, and get some fresh cider. What more could a guy ask for?? Grace had fun too! She liked snuggling on the hayride and taking pictures with big brother. Here are a few pics...

I LOVE the Fall. It is by far my favorite season of the year. I love Halloween and Thanksgiving and making chili and wearing sweatshirts and everything about fall. So, I decided that Joel and I would make some Halloween crafts together. My mom had sent me some fun ideas and Joel & I liked the lolipop spider. I'm telling you, people, I talked this craft up so much that he was chomping at the bit by the time we got to hobby lobby to pick up our pipe cleaners and googly eyes! We talked about how much fun it would be and how exciting it would be to show Daddy when he got home from work...and on and on. The last thing I had to pick up was a pack of dum dum suckers to use at the spider body. No problem. We ran into Walmart as we were heading home. Joel was in charge of remembering the suckers (as if he could possibly forget!) After we got some milk and bread and other essentials, we headed off to the candy aisle. Of course...the ONLY pack of ANY suckers at all is a THREE HUNDRED count halloween bag for ten bucks! At this point, though, there is no way that we are leaving without those suckers! So...my creative $3 craft turned into a somewhat larger investment, but it was well worth it. Joel LOVED the end result and he loves that we have some extra treats around the house. I guess that we can save the rest for our trick-or-treaters. Here is the famous twelve dollar spider!! :)

And a random pic...here are our two little Spartan fans. Thanks to Jason, Kelly & Maddox for Gracie's MSU cheerleader outfit! Dad loved this picture!

Okay...what's a blog update without a couple fun Joel quotes...
This week, when I told Joel that I loved him, he said, "I love you, too!" So I made a big deal about that saying how nice it was to say that and how it made mom's heart so happy. Later that day, we were driving and he said "I love you, too" again. So I told him again how nice it was to say. Then at nap time I told him goodnight and that I loved him. "I love you, too!" he said. I went into my room. A couple seconds later he yells, "I SAID I love you, TOO!" as if he is waiting for praise and accolades. He makes me laugh.

As Gracie was chewing on our couch, Joel said, "That silly girl! What are we going to do with her??"
